Canon Inc. has established the Canon Group CSR Activity Policy, which encompasses areas such as support for the arts, culture, and sports; education and science; humanitarian aid; disaster relief; and efforts to balance affluent lifestyles with environmental protection. Based on this policy, the entire Canon Group is developing social and cultural support activities by leveraging its strengths: advanced technological capabilities, global business operations, and diverse human resources with expertise.

Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief
Support for the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and Heavy Rain Disaster
The earthquake that hit the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture on January 1, 2024, and the heavy rain disaster that occurred on the Noto Peninsula in September of the same year caused devastating damage. We want to express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives, and our heartfelt sympathies to all those who have been affected and are living in fear.
The Canon Group has donated the following funds through the Japanese Red Cross Society to support the areas affected by these disasters.

Our Tablet-Type Ultrasound Diagnostic Device Was Used to Screen Over 1,000 People at Evacuation Centers in Disaster-Stricken Areas
As part of its support for the affected areas, Canon Medical Systems offered five tablet-type diagnostic ultrasound systems on loan to the Japan Association of Medical Technologists (JAMT).
In response to a request from JAMT, which anticipated increased demand for Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) screening at evacuation centers in disaster-affected areas, Canon Medical Systems Corporation UL Sales Department took the lead in arranging for systems and other measures. The five tablet-type ultrasound systems delivered to the site were used for DVT screening for a total of 1,123 people at evacuation centers in the Okunoto area (Wajima City, Suzu City, and Noto Town) from mid-January to late March. The DVT incidence rate was higher than usual at 8.5%, with some areas reaching nearly 17%.
Canon Medical Systems received words of appreciation from JAMT for its proactive approach and quick response to disaster relief efforts. Through this activity, Canon Medical was able to contribute to healthcare for people affected by disasters by quickly responding to offer the necessary systems in disaster-affected areas. We want to express our gratitude to all those who contributed to this outcome.

At Canon Medical Systems USA, the Human Resources Department donated to the American Red Cross to support the areas affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, and also volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Volunteers assisted in harvesting vegetables and packaging crates of food for delivery.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to building a foundation of community health and a hunger-free Orange County by providing dignified, equitable, and consistent access to nutritious food. Canon Medical Systems USA collaborated with a network of over 300 partners - including houses of worship, schools, after-school programs, colleges, senior centers, shelters, soup kitchens, and transitional housing facilities, distributing food to an average of 442,154 people per month. Over 3,570 pounds of food were distributed in fiscal year 2024. These efforts focus on vulnerable populations in need of assistance, such as children, working families, college students, and seniors.

As part of its contribution to the local community, Canon Medical Research Europe, Ltd. organises litter picking events around its office and encourages employees to participate as a group.
As part of its contribution to the local community, Canon Medical Research Europe, Ltd. organises litter picking events around its office and encourages employees to participate as a group.
Canon Medical Research Europe, Ltd has a good relationship with the Edinburgh Food Project, a charity that distributes food packages and financial education to the local community. This organisation was also a charity partner for 2024. Staff members have visited the organisation's headquarters as a group and have actively supported it through food donation projects and various charity fundraising events.
The charity partner for 2025 is Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland. Canon Medical Research Europe, Ltd staff members will participate in various fundraising activities throughout the year.

Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. in collaboration with the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Research and Education (R&E) Foundation, has awarded the "Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. RSNA Research Scholar Grant" to Jaehoon Shin, M.D., Ph.D., and the "Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. RSNA Medical Student Grant" to Meet Patel. These grants were made possible through the support of the RSNA R&E Foundation, as well as CMSU, a Vanguard Program donor.
The "Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. RSNA Research Scholar Grant" provides up to $200,000 over a two-year period to recipients selected by the RSNA Research Foundation to support the development of young faculty members into independent researchers. It is the highest career development grant the foundation offers.

Jeffun Singh, M.D., Ph.D. of the University of California, San Francisco, is using genetically engineered T cells to develop a novel way to treat locally invasive, unresectable tumors. The study plan consists of two phases, and this approach is expected to enhance therapeutic efficacy and patient safety significantly. The Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. RSNA Medical Student Grant offers a $3,000 stipend, matched by the department for a total of $6,000, to support a research project in the radiologic sciences. The RSNA Research Foundation selects recipients.

Canon Medical partners with elite sports clubs to help prevent and manage musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries through cutting-edge imaging technology that supports accurate diagnosis and treatment. Our goal is to promote the exchange of essential sports medicine knowledge and empower everyone, whether amateur or professional, to optimise their performance in their chosen sport.

Canon Medical Systems held a table tennis clinic in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, as part of its community contribution activities. Thirty-two elementary and junior high school students from the city participated in the clinic, which was conducted by members of its women's table tennis team. The clinic included practical instruction by players, challenge matches, and injury prevention stretches, providing an excellent opportunity for participants to learn about the medical field. Canon Medical Systems will continue to contribute to the community through sports and contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
Olea Medical SA provides all employees with annual funding for sports and cultural activities, amounting to €150 per year. The Company supports the RUBieS Association, which supports cancer treatment for women through activities such as rugby.
