STRONGER TOGETHER: FROM THE MD

Dear Valued Customers,

In December 2016, the agreement concerning the sale of Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation (Toshiba Medical) to Canon Inc. was finalised, as announced by Canon Corporation and Canon Inc. As a result, Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation is no longer a part of the Toshiba group and is now wholly owned by Canon Inc.

That is, the whole of Toshiba Medical (including its subsidiary here in Australia/New Zealand, Toshiba Medical Systems ANZ Pty Limited) is now a Canon group company.

Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation will be changing its name to “Canon Medical Systems Corporation” early in 2018 once we have completed the extensive required regulatory processes.

Recently, there was news coverage about our former parent company, Toshiba Corporation, and its ongoing financial trouble. While we are saddened by this news, it does not impact Toshiba Medical, as we are a subsidiary of Canon.

Canon and TMSC are building a synergistic relationship that leverages the strengths of both global leaders to deliver life-improving technologies and healthcare solutions to the global community. We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing to provide you with excellent customer service and sharing the upcoming benefits of this new partnership. We are certain that Toshiba Medical’s 100 year history and our “Made for Life” philosophy will continue to drive this company forward.
