Augment your routine scanning skill set with tips and tricks for scanning paediatric patients more confidently in your practice. Cases that will be covered include paediatric cranial structures, paediatric GI tract, and Dysplasia of the hip, among others.Allison Holley and Dr Tristan Reddan - two veterans in paediatric ultrasound - will present on specific pathology as well perform 3 x 45m live scanning sessions on the Aplio i800 Prism Edition. During the session you’ll have ample opportunity to ask questions directly and discuss the clinical findings presented.
Meet the speakers
Allison Holley
Allison Holley is a dedicated paediatric sonographer with Queensland Xray since 2002. She is a Fellow of the Australian Sonographers Association and has a Master of Applied Science (Medical Ultrasound). Prior to which she was the unit manager of the ultrasound department at Mater Hospitals including Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.
Allison has been a senior faculty member of the Australian Institute of Ultrasound and a sessional lecturer for QUT and CQU. She has extensive experience in education and has presented at local, national and international conferences. She has published two textbooks and numerous articles on paediatric ultrasound. Allison is the author of “Paediatric Ultrasound A Practical Guide” for which she was awarded an ASUM Award of Excellence in 2013.
Dr Tristan Reddan
Dr. Tristan Reddan is a Consultant Radiographer/Sonographer at the Queensland Children’s’ Hospital where he manages medical imaging research and provides state-wide paediatric sonography advice, as well as scanning services.
He is also a Visiting Fellow and Sessional Lecturer in Paediatric Ultrasound at the QUT where he completed his PhD which focused on improving appendiceal ultrasound in children. He is a member of the ASA Qld Branch Committee, the Research SIG, and was awarded an ASA Fellowship in 2018, ASA Sonographer of the Year - Queensland (2018 & 2021), and ASA Researcher of the Year (2019).
