Single Energy Metal Artifact Reduction
Remove metallic artifacts from ANY volumetric scan – using only one acquisition – only one energy – even after the event. SEMAR is a fully automatic scan protocol requiring no additional operator input. Canon Medical’s technology utilises a sophisticated iterative reconstruction technique to reduce metallic artifact, improving visualisation of implants, supporting bone and the adjacent soft tissues for a clearer and more confident diagnosis. SEMAR can be set in the scan protocol so the reconstructions are fully automatic requiring no additional operator input.
Offers the ability to remove bone and calcium from data sets while allowing clinicians to view tumors or arteries at risk. Currently available for brain, carotid, ortho and lung exams. Using our fully automated non-rigid registration algorithm, bone, calcium and stent subtraction can be achieved using a low dose unenhanced scan prior to contrast delivery.

Volumetric CT with arrhythmia detection
SURECardio* provides the ability to acquire volumetric cardiac CTA within one heartbeat with no table movement required. With Canon Medical’s leading technology, if an arrhythmia or abnormal heartbeat is detected it can automatically adjust the scan and acquire the next normal heartbeat.
Variable Helical Pitch (vHP)
A unique scan mode that allows a single helical acquisition with a seamless change of helical pitch. Three clinically adapted pitch settings can be used within one helical scan.Canon Medical’s exclusive technology, the vHP* variable helical pitch adaptive diagnostic tool will allow scanning of multiple Vascular territories within one breath hold and one contrast injection. vHP has the ability to automatically change an ECG-gated to a non-ECG-gated acquisition, reducing IV contrast and radiation dose. Changing table speeds within the same exam saves time, dose and cost. The example demonstrates how combining ECG and non-ECG-gated scans into a single scan makes excellent use of contrast media while reducing dose. An elegant solution for classification of renal stones and gout.
Volumetric Dual Energy
Taking advantage of our Volumetric Dual Energy** wide detector array, two rotations are acquired at low and high kV, mA is automatically adjusted to maintain similar noise characteristics. Projections are matched with orbital synchronisation and no table movement is required.
About Dual Energy
Dual Energy uses two energies during one CT scan, providing clinicians with more data to help quantify and characterise anatomy and lesions. As a result, exam times and radiation dose are both reduced.
