Spectral CT Explained

Adam Loveday, Senior CT Applications Specialist, Canon Medical Systems

Adam has been part of the CT applications team for almost 4 years. Now as a senior applications specialist, he enjoys working closely with our CT users to optimise all aspects of their CT service. He has an interest in emerging technologies, in particular spectral imaging.

In this presentation, Adam will outline the basic physics of spectral CT and how this is applied to the Aquilion ONE PRISM Edition.

Special Guest Presenter – Tony Buxton, Forensic Radiographer, NSW Health Pathology

For 28 years, until 2016, Tony held the position of senior lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography at the University of Newcastle. He now provides radiography education to chiropractors at Macquarie University and radiography input into the Mortuary Technician degree program at Western Sydney University. He is also a clinical associate of Queensland University of Technology.

He has held, or currently holds positions with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA), the NSW Medical Radiation Practice Council (MPRC) and The Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapists (ASMIRT).

He has an interest in technology and is passionate about improving the application of CT to the world of forensic medicine, principally regarding protocols and radiographer reviewing, and DVI involvement along with imaging for odontology.

At the first online user group in the series, Tony will be presenting on how NSW Health Pathology have adopted protocols to quickly and safely image cases for the coroner and how Canon unique technologies assist in this process.

CT Fluoroscopy: Back to Basics

Ashleigh Wheeldon, CT Applications Specialist, Canon Medical Systems

Ashleigh has recently joined the CT applications team, earlier this year. She has many years of experience assisting with CT interventional procedures as a radiographer. In her presentation, Ashleigh will outline some critical information that is often overlooked when performing CT guided spinal injections and ablation procedures.
